Successful NCRC Trail Ride held

DEXTER - On Saturday, September 21, NCRC held a 6 mile trail ride near the Number Ten Road in Dexter with 16 members and 7 non-members enjoying the beautiful weather. The 23 riders, of all ages, and their horses came from several towns through Central Maine, some of which rode to the Trail Ride, others trailered their steeds.

The Riders met up and started the official ride at the Wassookeag Snowmobile Club and rode through numerous secondary roads, snowmobile trails and woods trails and ended back at the club where they enjoyed a free lunch sponsored by North Country Riding Club. The name of the trail rider, town they are from and breed of horse ridden were as follows: Lynn McKusick - Dexter, Morgan; Diane Chabot - Dexter, Arabian; Paula Bautista - Bradford, Thoroughbred; Kimmie Derosier - Dexter, Quarter Horse; Tisha Wright - Alton, Quarter Horse; Lorie Chabot - Dexter, Quarter Horse; Tim Wright - Alton, Thoroughbred; Penny Wilkins - Dexter, Appaloosa, Roy Taylor - Dover, Quarter Horse; Debbie Taylor - Dover, Quarter Horse; Heidi Hamilton - Dexter, Appendix; Heidi Rogers - Garland, Morgan; Sam Fellows - Searsmont, Quarter Horse; Liza Glasier - Windsor, Paint; Sarah Wyman - Dexter, Arabian; Cheryl McKusick - Dexter, Quarter Horse/Cross; Michia McKusick - Dexter, Paint; Amie Smith - Dexter, Morgan; Jimmy Smith - Dexter, Quarter Horse; Bill Cherniske - Dexter, Morgan; Judy Wilbur Craig - Dexter, Warmblood; Vicki Moirs - Herman, Hines 57 and Brandy Olson - Dexter, Appaloosa/Cross.

North Country Riding Club (www.DexterMaine.org/ncrc/) sponsors Horse Shows, equine clinics, sleigh rides, trail rides and other events in the Dexter area, but members are from all over Central Maine. The next NCRC event is the Annual Haunted Hay Ride on October 19th starting at 6:30 pm at Bud Ellms Field in Dexter. Over 200 people came to the event last year and it is expected to bigger and better this year. The Halloween event is open to all ages and costs $5.00 per person with proceeds to benefit other events that NCRC sponsors.
